iheartfaces entry!

I recently learned how to do different shapes for bokeh ~ and I LOVE the hearts!!

Who doesn't love donuts, right?!?  My little Lexi is no exception :-)

She is turning one and since I'm always trying to keep my creative wheel spinning, I knew I wanted to do something different than a cake smash.  Why donuts?! I'll tell you :-)

The reason I did a donut cake rather than a regular cake is a special reason to Lexi & I.  Valentine's Dunkin' Donuts are my favorite and when she was born, my husband brought me a dozen of these delicious babies to the hospital...no, I didn't eat all of them!! ok, I ate almost all of them!!  Anywho, over the course of the past year, my dad has come over almost every Thursday since with donuts and Lexi has trie ripping our faces off to have some...no lie, I have scratches to prove it!!!


I'm very glad her donut cake was such a hit - the second she saw it, she was like a lion and 
attacked!!!

within mili-seconds, this donut was in her mouth!!

she leaves no bit of icing uneaten :-)

and there was no time for smiles...she was very serious about her donuts!!

our family {scrabble style}

Latest family time project complete!

Since Madison is obsessed with Scrabble now (ok, we are all obsessed with it and play words with friends on our iWhatever's against each other when we are sitting right next to each other), she suggested our latest family time project be something to do with our family and scrabble. We only had to use 4 blank tiles and "add" them, but this is what we came up with!!

 I learned something new today!!!  Notice it?!?!.......If you noticed the hearts, then I guess I did it right!!    I followed the directions provided in the link below and created a lens "cover" with a heart cutout to add to the bokeh effect {the bokeh is the term used to refer to the blurry parts of an image} http://www.diyphotography.net/diy_create_your_own_bokeh
